Legal Challenges of the Metaverse: The Case of the UAE
Overview
This research project explores the evolving legal and regulatory landscape of the Metaverse in the UAE, with a particular focus on Dubai’s ambition to become a global hub for virtual economies. As the Metaverse continues to grow, the study identifies key legal challenges such as data privacy, user protection, and intellectual property rights, highlighting gaps in current regulations. Through a series of scholarly articles, the project analyzes local and international laws, case studies, and emerging policies to provide practical insights for policymakers, regulators, and industry stakeholders. Ultimately, the research aims to support the development of a balanced regulatory framework that fosters innovation while ensuring legal compliance and user protection.
